wood darling Meagan Good (Jumping the Broom, Roll Bounce, Deliver Us From Eva), actress turned producer, comes clean to S2S on the real deal behind her break-up with Kansas City Chiefs' NFL baller Thomas Jones, the movies she's produced (Dysfunctional Friends and Video Girl), how she was bullied and beaten up as a kid, on being whitewashed, why she doesn't care about the rumors and haters, her role in the upcoming flick Think Like A Man, and why she's open to dating outside of her race. Meagan says, “I'm attracted to all kinds of men, right down to blond hair and blue eyes to Filipino.” (Page 38)
Jennifer Hudson Turns 30!
Jennifer Hudson was recently astonished at her own surprise 30th birthday celebration. S2S Publisher, Jamie Foster Brown was right there in the mix with handsome singer Raheem DeVaughn on her arm to get the scoop. J-Hud thought she was going to a dinner with fans but instead was met with loads of love in a room overflowing with family and friends. The highlight of the shin-dig was a host of drag queens dressed to the nines and belting out the gracious diva's hit songs. Lil Mo sang happy birthday to the star who was “working” that blue dress with her awesome “Weight Watchers” body.
Be on the lookout for Jennifer's new gig as part of the all-star cast of The Hub TV Network Show, “Majors & Minors,” which takes youth aspiring to careers in the music industry and pairs them up with music industry execs. (Page 14)
Funny Man Kevin Hart Laughs At His Pain and Has No Romance
The new king of comedy, Kevin Hart's on fire! He stars in the upcoming star studded movie (Think Like A Man, in theaters April 6, 2012), did a bang up job as this year's host of the BET Awards and his top grossing tour turned movie, Laugh At My Pain, is raking in millions. He gives his back-story to S2S publisher Jamie Brown in a face to face interview about the pain behind his laughter, including his failed marriage, what it was like growing up with a father on drugs and how it made him be a better dad, why he's just a really nice guy, what's the deal on him and Tami Roman (Basketball Wives), the easiest way to get someone out of your life and why Hollywood is totally fiction. He says, “Success has a way of changing people…You gotta have a strong enough mental state to understand what Hollywood is. To me, it's fiction.” And on the subject of romance he admits, “Jeez, I don't think I got a romantic bone in my body.” (Page 68)
Regina Hall On Think Like A Man
Gorgeous rising star Regina Hall shares dating advice with S2S from the set of her upcoming movie, Think Like A Man, the film adaptation of Steve Harvey's best-selling book, Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man. Best known for her roles in the Scary Movie series, Death At A Funeral and Love and Basketball, Regina plays Candace, a single mother who takes dating tips from Steve Harvey on how to navigate the crazy world of dating with child in tow. Her love interest is a mama's boy played by TV host and burgeoning actor, Terrence J (BET's 106th and Park). The film was directed by Tim Story (Fantastic Four series) and produced by Will Packer (Takers) and also stars Oscar nominee Taraji P. Henson, Kevin Hart, Gabrielle Union, Michael Ealy, Jerry Ferrara, Chris Brown and Megan Good. Regina, who was schooled well by her three brothers on what men like, advocates one special piece of advice to the sisters looking for love, “I think Black women should open up with who they're willing to date, you know, dating outside of their race.” (Page 10)
